Support Us

Here are all the ways you can help support our mission to end hunger and homelessness today.

Gifts of Real Estate

Donating real estate, such as a primary residence, vacation property, commercial building, or undeveloped land, can create a lasting impact for our neighbors facing hunger and homelessness. A gift of appreciated property that you have owned for more than one year may qualify for a federal income tax charitable deduction and could help reduce or avoid capital gains taxes.

In addition, transferring the property can relieve you of ongoing expenses such as maintenance, insurance, and property taxes.

You also do not need to manage the sale yourself. Property can be deeded directly to The Hoboken Shelter, or your attorney can include simple language in your will or trust to designate the gift as part of your legacy.
