Virtual/Remote Ways to Volunteer

If you would like to come in to our Shelter and volunteer on-site, click here for more information.

Double your impact in the community!

At the beginning of the pandemic, we partnered with some restaurants so that Hoboken residents can order food from a restaurant and have it delivered to the Shelter for our guests to enjoy.

We invite you to continue supporting local restaurants and keeping them in business—while feeding guests of our Shelter.

1) Pick your favorite restaurant and place an order for as much food as you would like to donate (you can do pizza pies, sandwiches, individual entrees, trays of food, etc).

2) Ask others in your network to donate with you to provide an entire meal (150 servings) for all of our guests.

3) To schedule the date of the delivery at the Shelter, please email us at meals@hobokenshelter.org.

Check in on Elderly Neighbors

During this time, our elderly neighbors may be in need of food, toiletries, or words of comfort. Your kindness will make a difference!

Start a Change Jar

This is an easy way to make a donation to the shelter. It costs us only $2 to serve a meal, so your donation of any amount can go a long way.

You can also opt to donate $300 to provide dinner to all of our guests for one evening. Click here to donate via PayPal.

Make, Wrap, & Deliver Shelter Guests’ Daily Sandwiches EVERY DAY:

Please consider doubling the impact of your gift by ordering sandwiches from a local business. To schedule this, please email us at meals@hobokenshelter.org.

• Any kind of sandwiches are appreciated, but our Guests prefer meat-based sandwiches.

• We ask that each sandwich is individually-wrapped (in plastic, tinfoil, sandwich bags, etc.)

50 brown-bagged lunches are needed daily for our Shelter Guests to take to work, school, programs, & job-searching. We always appreciate the delivery of sandwiches that individuals & groups thankfully take the time to make, wrap, & deliver.

Some companies do this during their staff meetings as a morale-building activity; some fraternities/sororities do this as a large group activity; & some parents/kids do this as a family activity.

You don’t have to call ahead when making your delivery—we welcome donations of 1-1,000 sandwiches 9am-9pm daily.
