Fun & Remote Ways for Kids to Volunteer

While kids 18 years and under are allowed to volunteer at the Shelter, many prefer to do activities at home to help support our Guests! Below are some ideas:

  • Registration for this annual Halloween race starts as early as May 1st each year. Your race ticket is a donation to the Shelter.

    Each runner can also set up a fundraising page to collect even more! Keep an eye out for registration.

  • During this time, our elderly neighbors may be in need of food, toiletries, or words of comfort. Your kindness will make a difference!

  • A Note of Hope and Encouragement will help lift our Guests’ spirits on their hard days

    Seeing your note, card & or pictures for our Guests will certainly brighten their day!

  • A great way to help is to take up a collection of Food, Paper Goods, & Toiletries.

    Maybe you & your classmates or family members can create a challenge competition to see who donates the most Toilet Paper?

  • Did you know that each meal at the Shelter costs only $2?

    Starting a change jar is a fun and simple way to raise money. Drop change in at the end of the day and watch the money grow!

    You can also opt to donate $300 to provide dinner to all of our guests for one evening. Click here to donate via PayPal.

  • For your birthday, encourage friends to donate to the Shelter instead of doing gifts.

    You can also pick a family holiday where you usually exchange gifts, and use donate a part of your budget to the Shelter!

  • Ask a parent if they can post a video to Facebook or another platform with you talking about your fundraising!
